Walking, cyclotouring |
||
| The cottages are located just outside the village, at the end of a country road leading to oak woodland. You will be smitten by the calmness and tranquillity of the place. The path which begins in front of the cottages will guide you to the walking and cyclotouring places. Some examples of outing locations are shown below: 1- The hamlet of Suzon and the AiguièresTaking this path, in about 500 metres, you will reach the small road which joins the village of Bouquet. After a 15 minutes walk in the direction of Bouquet, you will get to the basin of Pradines, a real safety haven in which you will be able to take a rest in the shade of the Aleppo pine trees, rocked by cicada shrilling. Again in the direction of Bouquet, at about 800 metres, you will turn left to take the trail which goes up to the woodland. Once at the summit, you will take the trail on the right. At about 2000 metres, you will get to the ruins of a small oppidum (remains of a Roman camp), which faces the hamlet and the large oppidum of Suzon. The Aiguières are holes, also named “cauldrons” or “pots”, digged into calcareous rock by the beck named Seguissous. In these natural cisterns used to live the turgan, a fish very appreciated for its gustative qualities. A few specimens can still be observed nowadays. Get the Flash Player to see this player.

In this direction, at about 800 metres, you will leave your vehicle to take the trail leading to the beautiful 6 metres high Menhir de Beth, which watches over the woodland.
